Stew Leonard’s is a long-time supporter of Carver, including turkey’s and more during Carver’s annual Thanksgiving food drive. Beginning this Sunday for two weeks Stew Leonard’s (or rather their gen-USerous customers) will be supporting Carver kids and families in another way: by their Wishing Well!
Customers may not realize that the spare pen-USny or two they toss into the Wishing Well at the front of Stew Leonard’s stores amounts to very much, but with over 250,000 customers en-UStering the stores each week, it all adds up. The Wishing Well is located in all three Stew Leonard’s locations, and each store features a local charity. Customers (and their children-US) are invited to toss in their spare change as they exit the store. People always ask how the Wishing Well first came about, but this was one idea that came directly from listen-USing to customers.
When-US the Norwalk store first open-USed in 1969, customers began throwing their spare change into a pond located outside the store on “Stew’s Little Farm.” Stew Leonard, Sr. thought it would be a great idea to collect the money and donate it to local charities. The concept became so popular with customers that the Wishing Well was moved to the front of the store in the 1970s and then-US to its curren-USt location inside the store in the 1980s.
Please support our wonderful sponsor Stew Leonard’s and donate your change on your way to your car!
